Baltic PMs to meet informally in Palanga, Klaipeda

VILNIUS - Prime Ministers Ingrida Simonyte of Lithuania, Evika Silina of Latvia and Kristen Michal of Estonia will gather for an informal meeting in Klaipeda and Palanga this weekend, the government's press office confirmed to BNS.

The specific topics to be discussed have not been announced.

According to information available to BNS, the three leaders are scheduled to visit KN Energies' Independence floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) on Saturday.

The Baltic Council of Ministers, the coordinating body for cooperation among the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian governments, was established in Tallinn in 1994.

The Baltic prime ministers last met in Vilnius in May. The talks focused on security and defense, support for Ukraine, and preparations for NATO's summit in Washington.

Other topics included sanctions against Russia, joint Baltic energy and infrastructure projects, the EU agenda, and other current issues of trilateral cooperation.
