Ignitis Group is rewarded for the largest Lithuanian investment in Poland

Ignitis Group, an international energy company and one of the largest energy groups in the Baltic region, was awarded in the Polish Business Awards, which aims to distinguish Polish and Lithuanian companies developing mutual economic relations. Ignitis Group received an award in the category "The largest Lithuanian investment in Poland 2019" for the construction of the Pomerania wind farm. The 8th edition of the competition took place on the 4 th of December at the Embassy of Poland in Vilnius.

The Polish Ambassador in Lithuania submitted Ignitis Group to participate in the competition, appreciating the influence of Ignitis Group in the development of renewable energy sources in Poland. The award is a recognition of good economic relations between Poland and Lithuania.

We are delighted that we could combine forces with the growing and globally competitive energy company in this mutually important area – renewable energy. We highly value and recognise Ignitis Group’s investment in Poland. We wish that such good examples continue and bring numerous benefits and many more occasions to collaborate – comments Urszula Doroszewska, Ambassador of Poland to Lithuania.

The 94 MW Pomerania wind farm will start operating in 2021. The investment won a guaranteed tariff for renewable energy projects in the Polish auction. The estimated total cost of the project is EUR 127 million. The Pomerania wind farm is the second largest wind park currently being built in Poland and it should produce amount of energy that would be enough for aprox. 160000 households for the whole year.
