VILNIUS – Lithuania's outgoing President Dalia Grybauskaite will bid farewell to EU ambassadors accredited to Lithuania.
The president has usually met with ambassadors twice a year, and Wednesday's meeting will be the last meeting of such a format.
Nerijus Aleksiejunas, an advisor to the Lithuanian president, told BNS Lithuania the meeting will focus on the EU and foreign political current affairs and a review of achievements.
"It will be a great opportunity to thank EU ambassadors for cooperation and achieved results. It has been achieved a lot in the areas of energy and security. Moreover, ambassadors have actively participated in the presidential campaign "For a Safe Lithuania," the diplomat said.
Grybauskaite's presidential term ends on July 12. She will be replaced by Gitanas Nauseda who was elected Lithuania's new president in May.
