VILNIUS – Lithuania's Laurynas Kasciunas is taking part in an informal meeting of EU defense ministers on Friday to discuss the bloc's defense and security issues.

The meeting will focus on Ukraine, the Defense Ministry said.

Defense ministers will receive an update on developments at the frontline, review the progress made in providing military support to Kyiv, including revenue from frozen Russian assets, as well as member state-led initiatives, cooperation with NATO, and other issues related to the bloc's military assistance mission in Ukraine.

Ministers will also take stock of the EU Satellite Center's (SatCen) work in recent years and exchange views on how the center can make a more effective contribution to security and defense.

SatCen provides member states and Ukraine with products and services based on the exploitation of space assets and related data, including satellite and aerial imagery.
