VILNIUS - Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda will travel to Switzerland on Saturday to attend a two-day high-level conference on peace in Ukraine, the presidential office said on Friday.

Nauseda will attend the conference at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Swiss President Viola Amherd.

Leaders of more than 100 countries are expected to attend the conference that will include a plenary session and separate discussions on nuclear safety, food security and human rights.

Participants will also discuss the implementation of the 10-point plan for peace with Russia, announced by Zelensky in 2022.

Lithuania is also involved in the development of three of the points, including Ukraine's energy security, justice in the investigation of war crimes and the withdrawal of Moscow's troops from Ukraine.

Attracting world leaders to the conference has been one of Zelensky's key tasks this year. He has personally visited a number of countries to invite their leaders to the meeting.

Moscow has declared it's not interested in attending the conference, so Switzerland as it's the host has not invited Russian representatives.
