Movie stars hit the big screen

The big event for cinema devotees this month is the International Festival of Film Actors “The Baltic Pearl” organized in Riga, writes www.latvia.travel. The Festival offers its viewers both Hollywood golden classics and premieres of the most striking European and Russian films, as well as the possibility to see the world famous cinema stars face-to-face and to participate in master classes conducted by them.

The festival “The Baltic Pearl” began soon after the fall of the Soviet Union – in the middle of the 1990s – as a Film Festival of Actors. The author of the Festival idea and the long-term director of “The Baltic Pearl” is the Russian actress Marina Lipcenko, who has lived in Riga for many years.
This year’s classics on the big screen include Woody Allen’s Manhattan, Orson Welle’s Citizen Kane, Stanley Kubrik’s Clockwork Orange, and Bernardo Bertolucci’s Last Tango in Paris.
