Applications Open for the Next “StartSchool” Technology Leadership Training Program

  • 2025-02-20

The information technology and startup education program “StartSchool” has begun accepting applications for its 2025/2026 cohort, inviting future technology business leaders to apply. The program offers free training, structured into two modules—technology and business. Participants will gain foundational programming knowledge while also developing an understanding of related processes, which are critical for creating new products. Additionally, they will receive comprehensive training in startup creation and management, idea generation, prototyping, marketing, sales, and attracting investments.

The program includes hands-on workshops, study visits to companies, hackathons, and presentation training, preparing participants for success in the startup environment. The training, set to begin in August 2025, will last for 12 months, and applications are open until March 31, 2025.

Anna Andersone, CEO of StartSchool, emphasized: “We were truly excited about the overwhelming interest in our first program last year, where approximately seven applicants competed for each spot. This proves that people at different career stages are eager to improve their skills and learn new ones. This program is designed for those looking to build their own startup, transition careers, or simply develop their competencies. We invite everyone thinking about a future in the tech business and startup ecosystem to apply!”

Kristofs Blaus, Co-founder of StartSchool, added: “Latvia has the potential—and the obligation—to become a hub of technological excellence! “StartSchool” offers a unique opportunity for motivated and creative individuals to be part of this growth and take their first steps in the tech business world. Whether you already have experience or are just beginning to explore entrepreneurship and innovation, don’t wait—early applicants will receive special surprises!”

With the mission to build a globally competitive tech hub, “StartSchool” aims to position Latvia as a globally competitive technology centre by promoting self-directed learning. The program not only prepares graduates for careers in technology companies but also inspires them to launch their own startups. In the first cohort, 30% of participants already aspired to start their own companies, and this number continues to grow throughout the training. Currently, participants have formed more than 20 teams, working on refining their startup ideas and developing new products. A key benefit of the program is the supportive startup community and knowledge-sharing environment, helping participants integrate successfully into the tech industry.

The technology module is designed in collaboration with Qwasar – Silicon Valley, providing an intensive, project-based training curriculum that includes coding exercises and problem-solving tasks to develop in-demand job market skills.

In August 2025, more than 100 participants will begin the StartSchool program, the top 50 participants studies will be fully funded thanks to the support of the program’s founders and the Latvian tech industry. The selection process will take place in April and May, with results announced in July.

Applications for StartSchool are open for the next six weeks, until March 31, 2025.
