RIGA - The foreign ministers of the Baltic states will visit Washington, D.C., on Tuesday to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braze' (New Unity) post on X.
Rubio is scheduled to meet with Braze, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys on Tuesday at 6.m. Latvian time.
During the meeting, Braze plans to discuss the deepening of relations between Latvia and the U.S. in the areas of security, economy and technology.
According to information on the Latvian Foreign Ministry's website, Braze is on a working visit to Washington, D.C., on Monday and Tuesday, where she is scheduled to have meetings with the U.S. Secretary of State, as well as with representatives of the US administration and Congress. The visit is taking place at Rubio's invitation.
Braze will take part in an event commemorating victims of communist genocide at the Victims of Communism Memorial in Washington.
The Latvian foreign minister will also attend an event organized by the Latvian Embassy to celebrate Latvia's Oscar-winning animated film "Flow" and meet with representatives of the Latvian diaspora.
