VILNIUS - German Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil is coming to Lithuania to meet with his Baltic counterparts and to visit German troops stationed in the country.

Aukse Bruveriene, a spokeswoman for the German Embassy in Lithuania, confirmed to BNS that Klingbeil will arrive on Monday and stay through Tuesday.

During the visit, he is scheduled to meet with the finance ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, and President Gitanas Nauseda.

Klingbeil will also visit the German brigade's headquarters in Vilnius and travel to Rukla, in central Lithuania, where German troops are stationed as part of NATO’s multinational battalion.

Germany plans to fully deploy the brigade - some 4,000 to 5,000 troops - in Lithuania by the end of 2027.
