Great Amber concert hall to mark tenth anniversary with a festival this coming fall

RIGA - Great Amber concert hall in Liepaja will mark its tenth anniversary with a festival this coming fall, as the concert hall's public relations manager Anita Lazdeniece-Grinberga informed LETA.

On October 11, concert series "The World at Great Amber" will feature a performance by Malian Grammy Award-winner Oumou Sangare.

On October 17, concert for children "Tales of Linden Fathers" will take place at the concert hall, staged by Varis Silins to mark the tenth anniversary of Great Amber.

Violinists Patricija Kopacinska and Gidon Kremer, together with Kremerata Baltica orchestra, will perform at Great Amber on October 25.

Woodwind quintet Carion will give a concert at Great Amber's Chamber Hall on October 26.

The culmination of the festival will be a concert featuring more than 250 musicians on November 7 and 8, performing Arnold Schoenberg's "Gurre-Lieder".
