Impact Day 2024 crossed the finish line and impacted thousands of people

  • 2024-10-14

On 10-12 October Impact Day, the largest sustainability festival in the Baltics, took place in Tallinn. More than 170 speakers performed on three stages, and thousands of participants from more than 30 countries took part in the festival. The EXPO area hosted exhibits from more than 50 responsible companies.

According to Erkki Kubber, the Program Manager of the festival, with each passing year, we see how sustainability is gaining ground, how companies are realizing its true impact on business, and how they are recognizing their responsibility to make the world a better place. “Sustainability is no longer just an issue to be dealt with, but there is a growing realization that it is essential to improving people, business, and the world,” Kubber says. He added that it is important to see sustainability broader than just minimizing pollution and waste, as it has a strong impact on both the economy and well-being.

In addition to influential presentations, many practical workshops and (panel) discussions took place on three stages. On-site, it was also possible to explore the large EXPO area where approximately 50 companies participated.

One of the speakers of the event was Jos de Blok, the visionary founder and CEO of Buurtzorg, who transformed home-based health care and ignited a revolution in the Netherlands’ approach to community-based nursing. According to Blok, with healthier lifestyles and environments, fewer problems will arise. In addition, he is convinced that sustainability touches nearly every aspect of our lives: “Beyond environmental considerations, sustainability includes social equity: ensuring that education, healthcare, and safety are accessible to all. I view sustainability as integral to the fabric of society, spreading throughout every aspect of human existence.”

Impact Day 2024 brought together enthusiasts who want to understand sustainability better than before and influencers/speakers who educated listeners-viewers on making more sustainable choices on a daily basis. In addition, responsible entrepreneurs, investors and representatives of the public sector participated at the festival.

Impact Day 2025 will take place on October 9-11. The main topic of the Impact Day 2025 festival is “Aiming Higher”. The Mega Early Bird tickets are available until the 18th of October.
