VILNIUS - Israeli carrier Israir Airlines launched regular flights between Vilnius and Tel Aviv on Sunday, Lietuvos Oro Uostai (Lithuanian Airports, or LTOU), the airport operator in Lithuania, reported on Monday.

"A new airline, Israir Airlines, began regular flights from Vilnius Airport on April 27. This is the first route for this Israeli airline in the Lithuanian airports' network," LTOU said in a press release.

Israir Airlines will offer at least two more flights in May and, starting from June, will operate two weekly flights, on Fridays and Mondays.

According to LTOU data, Israir Airlines flights to Tel Aviv will only be offered during the summer season.

Wizz Air and Ryanair also fly from Lithuania to Tel Aviv, with Wizz Air operating flights during the winter as well.

Israir Airlines is Israel's second-largest airline, offering both scheduled and charter flights in Europe and the Mediterranean region.
