Latvian weightlifter Plesnieks wins bronze at Tokyo Olympics

TOKYO - Latvian weightlifter Arturs Plesnieks finished third in the 109 kg weightlifting competition at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday.

Plesnieks achieved a combined total of 410 kilograms - 180 in the snatch  and 230 in the clean and jerk.

Armenia's Simon Martirosyan (423 kg) took silver and Uzbek weightlifter Akbar Djuraev (430 kg) collected gold in the Olympic competition.
