TALLINN - The Estonian parliament narrowly re-elected current speaker Lauri Hussar as its president on Thursday.
Chairman of the Estonia 200 group Toomas Uibo nominated Hussar for the position, while leader of the opposition Isamaa Urmas Reinsalu nominated Helir-Valdor Seeder.
In a secret ballot, 51 members of the Riigikogu voted for Hussar and 42 for Seeder. Six ballots were invalid. As a result, Hussar was elected.
