VILNIUS - Lithuania has called on Israel and Hamas to resume ceasefire negotiations and respect international law.
"Lithuania is concerned about the renewed fighting in the Gaza Strip and calls on all sides to resume negotiations. International law shall be respected: hostages shall be unconditionally released, unhindered humanitarian aid ensured, further civilian casualties prevented," the country's Foreign Ministry said in a post on X.
The Israeli army announced on Wednesday it had resumed ground operations in the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip in order to extend the security perimeter and create a partial buffer between the northern and south.
