VILNIUS - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys will participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) and the Weimar Triangle countries on the island of Bornholm, Denmark, on Monday.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the ministers will discuss European security and defense issues, Russia's aggression against Ukraine and support for Kyiv, transatlantic relations, and responses to hybrid and shadow fleet threats.

Denmark is coordinating NB8 cooperation in 2025.

Budrys is visiting Denmark at a time when the United States is mediating for a ceasefire and peace between Ukraine and Russia.

The US is not revealing all the details of its plan, but it is believed that the proposals include territorial concessions, including recognition of Russian control over Crimea by the United States.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insists that the peninsula belongs to the Ukrainian people.

This proposal has also been criticized by Western countries.
