Lithuanian president to attend opening of Olympic Games in Paris

VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and First Lady Diana Nausediene have left for France to attend the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in Paris on Friday

They will also support the first Lithuanian Olympians competing in swimming, rowing and 3x3 basketball. They will also visit the Lithuanian athletes in the Olympic Village, the presidential press service aid.

During his visit to France, the Lithuanian president will participate in the International Summit on Sport and inaugurate an exhibition at the Lithuanian Embassy in France, commemorating the centenary of the Olympic Movement in Lithuania.

The president and the first lady will join world leaders at receptions hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, as well as by Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee.
