On April 11, 2025, one of the most significant events in the Baltic communication industry took place – the Mi:t&Links Baltic Communication Awards 2025. At this event, McCann Riga was honored with the prestigious title of “Agency of the Year – Latvia”, once again confirming its leading role in creative communications in Latvia.

McCann Riga stood out with strategically strong and socially relevant campaigns, covering international communication, sustainability, the B2B segment, and public health issues. This diversity showcases the agency’s ability to create content-rich and creatively bold campaigns across a wide range of sectors.

“It’s important to us to create ideas that not only capture attention but also leave a lasting impact and are conceptually consistent throughout all stages of communication. Behind every campaign is careful work, where strategy and creativity merge into one cohesive story. This award is not only recognition from the industry but also a testament to the trust our clients place in collaborations built on bold ideas and professional execution. We are truly grateful to all our partners who have been part of this journey — because only together can we create communication that truly matters. With these achievements, we will continue raising the bar even higher,” said Valters Jonāts, Creative Director and Partner at McCann Riga.

In total, McCann Riga and its partners received six awards:

- 1st place in the International Communication category for the campaign “Kidnapped by Russia” (McCann Riga | Truesix & Komunikācijas Aģentūra), client: Russia’s War On Children;

- 1st place in Sustainability & ESG Communication for “BIPA is starving” (McCann Riga), client: Getliņi EKO;

- 2nd place in B2B Communication for “REF Minerals: Ahead of the Industry” (McCann Riga), client: REF Minerals;

- 2nd place in No Budget for “The SSE500” (McCann Riga), client: Stockholm School of Economics in Riga;

- 3rd place in Influencer/Opinion Leader Campaigns for “For Your Breast Safety” (McCann Riga & Golin Riga), client: charity fund Rozā vilciens;

- 3rd place in No Budget for “Kidnapped by Russia” (McCann Riga | Truesix & Komunikācijas Aģentūra), client: Russia’s War On Children.

This year’s results also reflect broader industry trends — the boundaries between public relations and advertising are becoming increasingly blurred. Topics related to social impact and sustainability are gaining importance worldwide, driven by shifts in public sentiment and the growing relevance of geopolitically sensitive issues.

Today’s most effective campaigns are built on strong PR narratives, enhanced by visually and strategically refined advertising solutions across multiple channels. McCann Riga’s success clearly demonstrates that an integrated approach — where PR and advertising work hand in hand — remains a powerful and enduring value.
