  • 2024-12-14

The 2025 Midsummer Vilnius festival, set to take place in the heart of Lithuania's capital from July 14 to 25, has revealed its first three headlining acts. Taking the stage at this iconic event will be Mercury Prize winner Benjamin Clementine, an impassioned duet performance by opera diva Violeta Urmana and Italian tenor Alfredo Nigro, as well as a revival of the unique international project FINK Orchestra for one special evening.

This year is particularly special for Midsummer Vilnius, marking a decade since the festival’s debut in the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Since its start, the festival has hosted thousands of artists, fostered collaborations across genres, and created inspiring international projects that continue to resonate.

“We’re thrilled to remain an essential part of the cultural landscape for Vilnius residents and visitors, showcasing the best Lithuanian and global talent. I’m confident these first ten years are just the beginning of a vibrant festival legacy,” says festival director Valdas Petreikis.

The festival’s 10th-anniversary theme—eternal love for the stage—reflects its devotion to artistic excellence. “We joke that we’ll need to renew our vows with our muse, thanking her for the unique experiences so far and pledging to continue creating unforgettable moments,” Valdas Petreikis adds.

Benjamin Clementine

Opening the festival’s 10th-anniversary program on July 14 is world-renowned British artist and Mercury Prize laureate Benjamin Clementine. Performing in the Grand Courtyard, Clementine will present his fourth and final album, Sir Introvert and the Featherweights, marking a pivotal moment in his career as he moves to the film industry. This will be an extraordinary opportunity for fans to bid farewell to his musical artistry, with the evening set to feature new tracks and beloved hits.

Violeta Urmana & Alfredo Nigro: GALA Concert

On July 18, the festival will welcome back world-class stars to the Grand Courtyard stage. This rare opportunity to hear opera legend Violeta Urmana features her performing a love duet with Italian tenor Alfredo Nigro. Their heartfelt program, infused with tenderness and passion, will be accompanied by the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Modestas Pitrėnas.

FINK Orchestra

On July 22, the festival will present the return of the one-of-a-kind FINK Orchestra, a collaboration between British singer-songwriter Fin Greenall, Lithuanian composer Jievaras Jasinskis, and conductor Modestas Pitrėnas with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. Known for his profound and high-caliber performances, Greenall has released over ten albums, including his latest, Beauty in Your Wake (2024), recorded in a Cornwall church with Grammy-winning producer Sam Okell. This project marks the beginning of a new tour—one that feels limitless.
