Prosecutor General steps down

VILNIUS - Lithuania's prosecutor general has resigned amid a growing controversy surrounding child molestation cases.

Though Prosecutor General Algimantas Valantinas did not give any official reasons for his resignation, he said that he would explain all of his "arguments" in the coming weeks.

President Dalia Grybauskaite accepted his resignation on Feb 05.
