RIGA - Latvian Economy Minister Artis Kampars has survived a motion of no-confidence by a single vote.
The vote of no confidence was called by Harmony Center, People's Party and Latvia's First Party/Latvia's Way parliament members. The June 10 outcome was 49 to 48 with one abstention.
The parliamentarians complained of the slow economic growth in the country and Kampars' inability to rein in unemployment, which has been the highest in the EU for eight months running.
