VILNIUS - Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has said she will veto any bill involving cuts to social spending until the government is prepared to reimburse retirement pension funds.
The government had previously promised to compensate Lithuania's pensioners for the cuts that they suffered over the past few years.
I will not sign any additional decisions to cut the benefits until the previous commitments have been done – the government promised to announce the mechanism of compensations by the 1st of July. These are my conditions," president told journalists on Monday.
