According to Estonian Justice Ministry statistics, 19,369 crimes were registered in Estonia in the first six months of the year, which was by 657, or 3 percent, less than for the same time last year, reports Postimees Online.
The number of fraudulence cases grew the most – 1,096 were registered in six months, by 258 more than at the same time last year. The number of thefts has fallen by 11 percent and traffic crime by 3 percent. Thirty-two cases of serious crimes against persons – murders and manslaughter were registered, versus 40 at the same time last year.
The number of crimes fell for 83 types of crimes, and also grew for 83 types.
