WTO talks may be delayed

TALLINN - Estonia's accession to the World Trade Organization may be delayed because the bill to ratify membership in the 134-nation trade party received too few votes from Parliament last week.Villu Reiljan, an MP from the Country People's Party, suggested the bill approved by Parliament may be invalid because it only received 48 votes, three shy of the absolute majority of votes necessary to approve the bill. Because the bill sets financial obligations for the state, 51 votes, or an absolute majority, is obligatory according to Estonian law, Reiljan said.Legal Chancellor Eerik-Juhan Truuv...
