TALLINN - President of the Estonian parliament Lauri Hussar hosted Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his delegation on Monday, and expressed support for Armenia's efforts to build a democratic state and move closer to the European Union.

At the meeting, Hussar welcomed the Armenian delegation and expressed satisfaction with the strengthening ties between Estonia and Armenia.

"We are pleased to find more and more opportunities for high-level meetings, and the cooperation between our parliamentary groups is a great example of how to add value to the relationship between our countries. We support Armenia's steps toward the European Union, and that is the most important topic we are discussing today. We would also like to know how Estonia can assist you," Hussar said.

The meeting also addressed the need to achieve stability in the South Caucasus. The Armenian prime minister stressed that the Armenian people wish to achieve peace with both Azerbaijan and Turkey, as peace is essential for developing democracy.

The discussions also covered Armenia's relations with Russia, continued support for Ukraine, and the situation in Georgia.
