International parcel delivery company Venipak is opening a new logistics terminal in Kaunas. Located near the Kaunas-Klaipėda highway, the terminal is expected to handle an increasing volume of both standard and oversized shipments, with the latter doubling in quantity. The company's largest terminal, covering 11,000 square meters, will process up to 50,000 parcels per day. A total of 2 million Eur is being invested in the new terminal, from which approximately 100 trucks will transport shipments nightly to the Baltic countries and Poland.

Venipak CEO Andrius Ladauskas states that over the past ten years, as the company expanded its operations in Lithuania and the other Baltic countries, it outgrew its old Kaunas terminal. The opening of the new terminal marks a qualitative leap forward for the company, focusing on process efficiency to meet growing customer expectations.

"With the rapid growth of e-commerce, customers are placing increasing importance on the quality, convenience and speed of parcel delivery. For e-commerce businesses, this often serves as a competitive advantage. We believe that this new, modern and highly efficient logistics terminal will not only enhance shipment throughput and internal process efficiency but also help our clients grow even faster. We will be significantly faster, meeting the increasing demands of our customers," says A. Ladauskas.

The new terminal infrastructure is designed to handle not only small, standard parcels destined for parcel lockers but also oversized freight and palletized shipments, reaching both private and business customers across the Baltic countries and Poland. The sorting capacity for non-standard shipments is expected to double.

"By moving to the new facility, we ensure a much higher parcel throughput, which means faster deliveries for our business clients in the Baltic countries and Poland. We aim to ensure seamless delivery for customers both during regular operations and peak seasons. Additionally, the twice-as-large terminal will provide more comfort for our employees—not only with modern working conditions and rest areas but also by offering a dedicated free transportation service that brings them to and from the terminal daily from Kaunas," says Ladauskas.

The new terminal project was developed by "Sirin Development". The facility, built to A++ energy efficiency standards, houses both parcel sorting operations and administrative offices. The site includes electric vehicle charging stations and significantly expanded administrative spaces with rest areas for employees. The Kaunas terminal currently employs around 200 people.

Venipak operates 24 logistics terminals across the Baltic countries. Due to its strategic location, the Kaunas terminal serves as the main hub, supporting other terminals in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Every night, 80-100 trucks depart from this facility with shipments.

In 2024, Venipak Group's revenue in the Baltic countries grew by nearly 10%, reaching 85 million Eur. According to RRT data, based on total parcel delivery revenue, Venipak Lithuania ranks as the third-largest courier company in Lithuania, holding 12.5% of the market share.

Managing a network of nearly 800 parcel lockers in the Baltic countries, Venipak has invested approximately 9 million Eur in parcel locker network expansion since 2021. An additional 2 million Eur has been invested in sorting lines, with terminals in Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn being expanded. In Lithuania alone, the number of parcel lockers almost doubled in a year, growing from 270 to 400, while their total capacity increased by 91%. In Latvia company has more than 200 lockers, in Estonia – more than 160.
