Zagars again wins competition to head Daile Theater

RIGA - The competition for the position of a member of the board of the Dailes Theatre has been won by the current theater director Juris Zagars among eight candidates, Lita Kokale, the head of the public relations department of the Culture Ministry, informed LETA.

Zagars' tasks as the head of the Dailes Theatre include continuing to ensure the growth of the theatre, while maintaining the diversity and accessibility of theatre art to a wide audience, as well as the financial stability of the theatre during its reconstruction and growth processes.

According to the Culture Ministry's state secretary Dace Vilsone, Zagars proved to be the strongest among the eight candidates for the position of the head of the Dailes Theatre - his five years of experience in managing the theatre and its staff, the renewed trust and attendance of the audience despite the security measures imposed to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, the ongoing reconstruction works of the theatre building and the overall vision of the theatre development convinced the commission.
